This afternoon the lovely Ruth at Hellens Manor gave me the grand tour and showed me around. It’s a real little jewel hidden away in Much Marcle, Herefordshire, and that’s why I went to see it. There are many venues in Herefordshire that don’t seem to get the same exposure as some of the big players in the county, and I’m not really sure why that is. Hellens Manor is a classic example of that. Set in stunning green grounds with wonderful views I see it being a lovely setting for a wedding. I was surprised to hear that it’s run by 5 families, living and breathing the Manor, staffing all of the events held there. They hold a real mix of events there, and this weekend they have the Hellens Garden Festival, which is set to see 3000 people visiting through the weekend!!
The venue itself is really spacious. The Great Barn is the main wedding space, and will comfortably seat 110 for dinner. The Great Barn overlooks the lawn, and is a short step away from the bar, which serves out onto the patio! Glass of champagne on the lawn anyone? The grounds are really surprising. I’m not surprised by the greenery since we live in a beautiful part of the country, but every time you turn a corner there’s more to see. The view above is from the main front entrance to Hellens Manor, where the drinks reception and ceremony is held is spectacular and a really idyllic photo backdrop.
Accommodation isn’t provided on the grounds but Ruth tells me that Much Marcle actually has its own website where you can find a full list of all of the accommodation in the village so finding somewhere to stay is easy.
As a venue for corporate events Hellens Manor is perfect. Wide open spaces for team work, and break off space for one on one work, makes the venue incredibly flexible. To add to this the Manor has a great feel about it – relaxed, light, airy and spacious.
Hellens Manor is an extremely exclusive wedding venue. They only allow 10 weddings each year in order to allow for other events through the year so if you want to hold your wedding at the Manor you do need to book early.
Sounds perfect doesn’t it? You can find out more on their website at www.hellensmanor.com
Once again I apologise for the lack of decent photos. These absolutely do not do this beautiful venue any justice. The only way to appreciate it properly is to go and have a look for yourself. One day I might get my hands on a decent camera!!
