Being a part of the photo shoot at The Forge – an amazing couple of days…….

Firstly, what is my involvement in The Forge and how did I come to be a part of this photoshoot? Well to cut a long story short the lovely Chanelle of Chanelle Knapp Photography had put a call out for help to provide her with some charger plates. I can help with that so I dropped her a line and that was the start of it. Chanelle gave me the brief on the photoshoot and invited me along to have a look and see if I was happy to be involved.

Wow, wow, wow! That was my response when I walked in to the chapel at The Forge for the first time. It’s incredible! Chanelle gave me the grand tour of the building and I was amazed the whole way through. How could I possibly refuse to be a part of this? This venue is exciting. It’s a real gem and definitely something new for couples looking to get married. The building is a beautiful mix of modern and historic, religious and non-religious. I can honestly say I would have no hesitation in recommending this venue to the modern bride.

The chapel itself is a gorgeous old chapel, restored and refurbished for this new project. The beauty of the chapel is that unlike other wedding venues you can be married in a stunning room, at an altar, and then have the wedding reception there too. Both settings look incredible, and neither looks out of place. The capacity of the room is huge – we laid up for 6 guest tables and a top table, and we could easily have got another 4-6 tables in there (maybe more than that but you’ll have to check the actual capacity with the venue!). The natural light in the room is lovely, and then later in the day the lights came on and I was surprised to see that they were fully adjustable on a dimmer so they’re perfect for both the day and evening settings.

The layout of The Forge means that there are several different areas, each with their own style. Aside from the chapel there are also interconnecting sections for the evening reception. The design team have done an amazing job of the styling and they’ve made such good use of features already there. The balcony overlooks the chapel and is the perfect space for the bride to prepare, or for the couple to take a break through the day.

The view is spectacular, and is a great vantage point for the photographer on the day. Again, there is plenty of natural light which is beneficial to the hair and make up team, and of course the photographer!

From the chapel you walk through into the other side of the building – a whole different place altogether and you would be forgiven for not believing you were in the same venue!

It’s made up of 3 main sections, all linked together but all very different. This part of the Forge’s reception space has an industrial feel and they’ve done a great job of making a feature of the walls and ceiling there. The room has so much potential for a variety of uses. We set this room up for a photo shoot, but if you went in today you’d see that it is lovely set out with smaller tables and chairs – a real chilled space.

The other 2 reception areas are different again. A much more modern feel, and perfect for setting up your band or DJ and a dance floor, along with a space for people to sit and chat. There are so many possibilities for the use of these rooms. I can only urge you to go and see it in person. You won’t be disappointed.

So, the photo shoot itself was such fun. A long couple of days that was exhausting for everyone involved, but it was an absolute pleasure. You couldn’t have ask for a nicer team of people to be involved in a project. We started off being asked to provide charger plates but it ended up being a full decor job. Throughout the photos you will see our vases, candles, candlesticks and votives, table linen, glassware, candelabras, and charger plates. We generally spent the day running around moving and straightening too and I think you’ll agree that the results are impressive. We are very proud to be a preferred supplier for this venue so if you have any questions please get in touch. Ruth and the team at The Forge are such lovely people and I know that your day will be in safe hands with them. The shoot was shared with a host of talented local suppliers too, and these are listed below. They’re a fantastic group of suppliers so if you see something you like in the photos why not get in touch with them and see what they have to offer for your big day.

All this leaves me to say is enjoy the photos…… and then book your appointment to go to the Forge, and also meet these lovely suppliers (credits below). (Hint: click on the photo to open it up so that you can see it in all it’s beautiful glory!)
